Same with MLK day...since he was an activist minister. Thanksgiving gets chopped also since giving thanks assumes a higher being to give thanks to. Just another work day. The New Year celebration was once a religious holiday and still is a holy day of obligation in the Catholic Church...so no more New Year's holiday. No sense in these people having to compromise their morals and be forced to celebrate holidays that they don't believe in. Let them work."
How many lawyers today know what 'The Federalist Papers' are? Now, how many know what is actually in 'The Federalist Papers'? And then finally, how many have actually read and studied 'The Federalist Papers'? If you study 'The Federalist Papers', then you will know how far away from the intent and purpose of the Constitution we have drifted as a nation. It is very doubtful that one out of ten attorneys or law students could explain what our forefathers created and how they intended it to function. I do not want to trust the current flock at attempting to build a new structure, that functions as well as the Constitution. We just need to get the government and the politicians out of the kitchen and the bank account!
Come on America! 90.9% of the employable workforce is working. Let's accentuate the positive. The Employment Rate is 90.9%. Your economy is strong and America's commerce is healthy. Companies are lean and their coiffures are full. We are legislating and inserting assistance to help less than 10% of the workforce. Maybe if we concentrated on the healthy 90.9% we could have a positive influence on the small 9.1% How about it America?
Inflation, Wage Freeze on 15th August 1971 : President Richard M. Nixon announced a 90-day freeze on wages, prices and rents in an attempt to bring inflation that was increasing under control. As part of the measures he also removed the gold/silver backing from the US Dollar effectively ending the ( Bretton Woods System ) and the American role as the guarantor of stability for the US Dollar and other worlds currencies. By the end of the year the US dollar became a floating currency and shortly after most of the rest of the worlds currencies followed which is still the case today.
